ARMANI BARBIE
The new Armani Barbie is dressed in a strapless silk-chiffon top and crepe skirt with embroidered tulle overlay, inspired by a design on display in the Guggenheim's Giorgio Armani exhibit. Only ,000 of these dolls will be released and Armani is donating all his royalty to YouthAIDS and Room to Grow.

NEW BARBIE COLLECTOR CLASSIFICATION
Mattel is replacing the old classification system in honour of Barbie's 45th anniversary. From now on the dolls will be labelled as follows:
Pink Label:
Keepsake dolls (eg.Dolls of the World Princess Collection)
Silver Label:
Classic Themed dolls available at select retailers (eg. Legends of Ireland Collection)
Gold label:
Distinct dolls featured at fine retailers; limited to 25,000 worldwide (eg. Versace Barbie)
Platinum Label:
Premium dolls; less then 1,000 worldwide, includes one-of-a-kind dolls (eg.Special Brunette Badgely Mishcka doll)
Some dolls will also be featuring a new packaging that can act as an easel and has a see through layer to view the doll
